Jess Tasker has been practicing in real estate since 2013 and can thank her referral network of happy clients for the healthy year-over-year growth of her business. She is a Canadian Certified Green Representative (CCGR), a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) & donates $250 from each sale to charity.
Before Jess started her career in real estate she worked as a residential carpenter in Halifax & Dartmouth. From demolition to finish carpentry, the years spent renovating some of the city’s hundred year old character homes helped her build a unique set of skills. She then founded a furniture design company called Trunk Studio that garnered accolades in the Globe & Mail, Toronto Star & Qatar Airlines’ Oryx Magazine (among others). This design & construction knowledge enables her to advise Sellers on how to prepare a property for successful sale, and to help Buyers assess the condition and potential of a home. During her university years, she captained St. Francis Xavier University to their first ever national rugby championship while finishing at the top of her class in Human Kinetics. The knowledge & discipline learned from sport, academia & carpentry have translated into the skills and temperament needed to succeed in the business of homes and the built environment.
Life as a Realtor entails daily conversations with clients, viewings, contract negotiation, analyzing sales statistics and particular homes all while constantly refining business, marketing & social media practices in an ever-changing changing technological world. It’s an evolving and dynamic career that Jess adores. With over a decade of experience as Realtor her vast knowledge of specific neighbourhoods, markets and homes is one that can only be built with experience.
Jess loves working with Red Door Realty; a highly regarded locally owned and grown real estate brokerage whose ethos, people and values are in alignment with her own.
“Buying or selling a home is often the largest monetary and lifestyle investment my clients will ever make and I’m adamant that the process deserves the utmost respect.” Her hardworking, yet laid back and approachable style are the perfect combination for keeping transactions and negotiations on track; especially when things get heated.
An enthusiastic East Coaster, she can be found enjoying everything the city has to offer. Whether it be walking her dogs Aggie & Scout at Point Pleasant Park, eating at one of her favourite local restaurants or mountain biking on McIntosh Run.
